The 1960 Citroën C60 Prototype was designed by Flaminio Bertoni, who had also styled the DS and the Ami, the C60 was a proposal for a new mid-range model to fit between the Ami and the DS, a niche that the GS would later fill. The headlamp treatment (using the lamps from the yet-to-be-launched Panhard 24) anticipated the restyling of the DS in 1967.
