The Abarth 2000 was designed by Pininfarina in 1969. Unlike other stylists, Pininfarina didn’t choose the name; however, the car could have been called "Testudo" in honor of the tortoise-like form of its rear end and roofline, with air intakes to the mid-mounted 2000cc engine.
