The CX-80 (also known as the FCX-80) was a concept vehicle built by Toyota and shown at the October 1979 Tokyo Motor Show. It was designed to be an experimental city car for the future that would save fuel by being light and compact. The bonnet sloped sharply, with a pod in the middle for the headlights. Front-wheel drive was used, leaving the cabin floor flat and spacious. The side windows were mounted high on the waistline, but this was offset by having transparent cut-outs in the body's side panels.
