Presented at the 1989 Frankfurt Auto Show was the UV-X concept. This vehicle featured a 110-inch wheelbase and a high-deck design allowing a low .25 coefficient of drag. A special characteristic of the UV-X was the use of liquid crystal glass, which could be darkened at the touch of a button. A camera was installed in the rear bumper to provide rear vision via a dashboard-mounted monitor.
