1993 ItalDesign Lucciola

The Lucciola was created to reinterpret and combine the concepts of leisure and eco-friendliness. It takes the form of an electrically-driven hybrid car with sparkling performance made out of recyclable materials and an aluminum body. The Lucciola is multi-purpose and practical because it can be converted from a closed car to an open-topped car. It is particularly well suited for leisure use.

Due to its clean power unit and small size, the Lucciola would be allowed to drive freely even around town centers that are often closed to traffic due to atmospheric pollution problems. The Lucciola received its world premiere at the Bologna Motor Show, the ideal event for launching a youthful and dynamic car destined for leisure use.

The ID Cinquecento, a static model, developed for the 1992 Turin motor show, the Lucciola gave rise to the extremely high-selling Daewoo Matiz.

The Lucciola is equipped with a 5.5 kw twin cylinder catalyzed diesel engine and two electric motors positioned on the rear wheels, each with a power of 7kw. The hybrid system guarantees a speed of 100 km/h and a range of 8 continuous hours with the hybrid system or 50 km using only the electric drive.
