Ken Okuyama, the renowned Japanese designer behind the Ferrari Enzo, unveiled his latest creation, the Kode61 Birdcage, at the esteemed Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Italy. This limited-edition supercar draws inspiration from the classic Maserati Tipo 61 racecar and the 2005 Maserati Birdcage 75th concept.
The Kode61 Birdcage showcases a roofless design with no windshield, providing an open-air driving experience. Its striking bodywork features bulged fenders, sharp front and rear ends, and upward-opening half-doors. The sleek lighting units and black accents on the lower body enhance its unique aesthetics, while the three-spoke alloy wheels pay homage to the Maserati MC20.
Inside the cabin, the retro-styled dashboard exudes a sense of nostalgia, complemented by shiny elements, a gated manual shifter, an analog instrument cluster, and a passenger-facing screen.
Produced in limited numbers, the Kode61 Birdcage will be meticulously handmade at the KEN OKUYAMA CARS factory in Yamagata, Japan. While specific production details and pricing remain undisclosed, this one-of-a-kind supercar promises to captivate automotive enthusiasts with its exquisite design and craftsmanship.
